Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers are hyaluronic acid-based injectable treatments used to restore volume, improve facial contours and enhance overall facial balance. They have a strong safety profile and are widely used in aesthetic medicine. Hyaluronic acid is a substance naturally found in the body that helps maintain skin hydration, structure and elasticity. When carefully placed beneath the skin, dermal fillers can restore volume lost through ageing and improve facial proportions in a subtle and natural way. Treatment plans are always based on a full facial assessment, as many concerns are best addressed by looking at the face as a whole rather than treating a single area in isolation. What Dermal Fillers Can Improve • Under-eye hollows (tear trough) • Temples • Cheeks and midface support • Nasolabial folds (smile lines) • Marionette lines • Jawline contour • Receded or weak chin projection • Facial asymmetry • Volume loss associated with ageing My approach focuses on facial balance rather than overfilling individual features. This means considering: • Facial proportions • Natural structural support of the face • Volume loss that occurs with ageing • Maintaining natural movement and expression The aim is to create results that appear refreshed and harmonious with your natural features, rather than obvious or overdone. What to Expect During Treatment • Facial structure and volume distribution are evaluated • Treatment areas are mapped based on facial balance • Small amounts of filler are carefully placed using fine needles or cannulas • The procedure typically takes 30–45 minutes, depending on the areas treated. Results & Longevity • Results are usually visible immediately after treatment, although some swelling can occur initially. • Longevity depends on the area treated and the type of filler used. Anywhere from 9 months to 1.5 yrs. Downtime & Recovery • Mild swelling • Bruising • Tenderness at injection sites • Temporary asymmetry while swelling settles Most patients return to normal activities the same day. Follow-Up Patients are typically reviewed 4 weeks after treatment to assess how the filler has settled and ensure the result remains balanced and natural. Adjustments can be made if required.
